Mission Statement

Our mission is to develop and implement responsive, objective and result-oriented services to individuals and organizations that will enhance productivity and promote health and well-being through a combination of expertise and evidence-based practice.

Our Brand

The Kinex logo graphically represents the attributes of a well-functioning individual after engagement with a Kinex Therapist. The light blue elements align through and around the Kinex wordmark metaphorically embody a strong sense of connectivity amid Kinex and the individual. The artwork visually represents the importance of placing Kinex at the centre of the therapy process to promote a healthy and productive mind, body and spirit.

Shannon Bazilewich

OWNER, BA, MSOT

Shannon Bazilewich earned her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Manitoba in 2009; with research in client and family-centred practice. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and is certified in functional capacity evaluations and cognitive functional abilities evaluation. Shannon has a special interest in the role of occupational therapy in medical legal cases and is highly experienced working with individuals with mental health conditions, acquired brain injuries and chronic health conditions.

Shannon has worked in various settings and has experience with a variety of assessments including Ergonomic Assessments, Personal Care Assessments, Job Demands Analysis, and Return to Work Programs. Shannon holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists.

Kym Kaufmann

OWNER, BA, MSOT

Kym Kaufmann holds a Bachelor of Arts, Masters of Occupational Therapy, Certificate in Quality Management and in Certificate in Public Sector Management. Since graduation, Kym has focused her work in medical legal, ergonomics, and mental health and is involved in leading fall prevention practices throughout the province. Kym is an energetic public speaker and provides lectures at Red River Community College, the University of Manitoba, and various conferences.

Kym has spent the last ten years working in various leadership roles in the provincial mental health and addictions system in Manitoba. Kym holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists.

 

Katie Spooner

Katie graduated in 2014 from the University of Manitoba with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy; with research in communication aids for children with disabilities. Since graduation, Katie has devoted her time and energy to working with the geriatric mental health population, completing functional abilities evaluations and functional medical personal care assessments.  Katie holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists. 


Janelle Penner

Janelle has over 12 years of experience as an occupational therapist working in areas a variety of area and completed research in the Accessibility of the Churchill Parkway in Winnipeg, which was presented at the CAOT conference in 2007. Janelle’s passion lies in vocation rehabilitation, ergonomics, functional assessments and working with individuals living with mental health concerns. Janelle is knowledgeable and experienced utilizing the Progressive Goal Attainment Scale (PGAP) and is certified as a Career/Employment Coach through the University of Winnipeg. Janelle also enjoys being a sessional instructor at the University of Manitoba, instructing in the Enabling and Professional Development Skills course. Janelle holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists. 


Lindsay Feuerstein

Lindsay has two Master’s Degrees; one in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and the other in Occupational Therapy from the University of Manitoba. Lindsay completed research in the work-life balance for occupational therapist mangers working in the private practice sector during her graduate studies. Currently, Lindsay focuses her practice on completing comprehensive functional assessments (including functional abilities evaluation) and working with adults and older adults implementing adaptive interventions to enable them to achieve maximal functional potential in their day-to-day lives. Lindsay holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists. 


Jackie Dumontet 

Jackie graduated with her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Manitoba. During her graduate program she completed research on the impact of the parent-child relationship in adolescent eating disorder treatment outcomes. She has acquired over five years of experience in various areas of occupational therapy practice and found her passion working in the areas of pediatrics and mental health. Her occupational therapy role with the pediatric population is unique and rewarding; enjoying the opportunity to assist little ones and their caregivers to optimize their occupational performance in play and academia. In addition to being a member of the Kinex Team, Jackie is a clinical team lead in acute adult mental health and addictions and is grateful for the opportunity to accompany these individuals along their journey to recovery. Jackie holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists. 


Nadine Lam

Nadine has a Masters in Occupational Therapy and Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba and is certified in completing functional abilities evaluations. Since 2011, Nadine has been providing occupational therapy services for individuals, families, insurance providers, and workplaces throughout Manitoba, including her currently in the Morden and Winkler area. She has extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in neurological rehabilitation. Nadine holds full membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists. 


Sara Vendramelli

Sara holds a Masters in Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Arts, and is certified in functional capacity evaluations. Since 2013, Sara has been providing occupational therapy services in hospitals, workplaces, and the community. She has a special interest in ergonomics, orthopaedics, and geriatric rehabilitation and has completed research in the functional use and implications of Treadmill workstations. Sara holds full memberships with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists.


Celeste Perez

Celeste has over 25 years of experience in acute medicine, sub-acute rehabilitation and providing specialized services to personal care homes in the Winnipeg and surrounding area. Celeste focuses her practice working with the adult and geriatric population and has earned her certification in Functional Abilities Evaluation. Celeste holds full memberships with Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba, and Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists.


Rhona McWilliam

Rhona McWilliam is a physiotherapist who graduated in 2005 from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland with a Bachelor of Science degree . Rhona has over twelve years of experience in Scotland, England, Canada and New Zealand. Rhona came to Canada in 2009 and became a proud Canadian citizen in April 2017.  Rhona’s treatment focus has a strong emphasis on exercise; however, she also uses passive treatments such as acupuncture, soft tissue massage, TENs and RockTape applications to help alleviate pain. Her post graduate training includes acupuncture, Functional Movement System and Selective Functional Movement System, Orthopedic Medicine Diploma, RockTaping and McKenzie Certification.
